SAN DIEGO, March 25, 2012 The long-sought technology for enabling the fabled “hydrogen economy” an era based on hydrogen fuel that replaces gasoline, diesel and other fossil fuels, easing concerns about foreign oil and air pollution has been available for decades and could begin commercial production of hydrogen in this decade, a scientist reported here today.
Speaking at the 243rd National Meeting & Exposition of the American Chemical Society (ACS), the world’s largest scientific society, Ibrahim Khamis, Ph.D., described how heat from existing nuclear plants could be used in the more economical production of hydrogen, with future plants custom-built for hydrogen production. He is with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, Austria.
“There is rapidly growing interest around the world in hydrogen production using nuclear power plants as heat sources,” Khamis said. “Hydrogen production using nuclear energy could reduce dependence on oil for fueling motor vehicles and the use of coal for generating electricity. In doing so, hydrogen could have a beneficial impact on global warming, since burning hydrogen releases only water vapor and no carbon dioxide, the main greenhouse gas. There is a dramatic reduction in pollution.”
Khamis said scientists and economists at IAEA and elsewhere are working intensively to determine how current nuclear power reactors 435 are operational worldwide and future nuclear power reactors could be enlisted in hydrogen production.
Most hydrogen production at present comes from natural gas or coal and results in releases of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide. On a much smaller scale, some production comes from a cleaner process called electrolysis, in which an electric current flowing through water splits the H2O molecules into hydrogen and oxygen. This process, termed electrolysis, is more efficient and less expensive if water is first heated to form steam, with the electric current passed through the steam.
Khamis said that nuclear power plants are ideal for hydrogen production because they already produce the heat for changing water into steam and the electricity for breaking the steam down into hydrogen and oxygen. Experts envision the current generation of nuclear power plants using a low-temperature electrolysis which can take advantage of low electricity prices during the plant’s off-peak hours to produce hydrogen. Future plants, designed specifically for hydrogen production, would use a more efficient high-temperature electrolysis process or be coupled to thermochemical processes, which are currently under research and development.
“Nuclear hydrogen from electrolysis of water or steam is a reality now, yet the economics need to be improved,” said Khamis. He noted that some countries are considering construction of new nuclear plants coupled with high-temperature steam electrolysis (HTSE) stations that would allow them to generate hydrogen gas on a large scale in anticipation of growing economic opportunities.
Khamis described how IAEA’s Hydrogen Economic Evaluation Programme (HEEP) is helping. IAEA has designed its HEEP software to help its member states take advantage of nuclear energy’s potential to generate hydrogen gas. The software assesses the technical and economic feasibility of hydrogen production under a wide variety of circumstances.

Abstract
The interest in hydrogen production using nuclear power plants as heat sources is growing rapidly in a number of nations. A considerable focus is being devoted to explore the option of current and future nuclear power reactors for hydrogen production. The use of current types of nuclear power reactors are foreseen as a short-term option for the production of hydrogen using low temperature electrolysis. Whereas the later one are seen as mid-term option as they will provide high temperature steam for the production of hydrogen using high temperature steam electrolysis or other promising thermochemical cycles.
In addition to publishing technical reports on status of nuclear hydrogen production, convening technical meetings to exchange information on prospects of nuclear hydrogen production as an integral part of the hydrogen economy, the IAEA is taking the first step in developing common cost assessment software called the Hydrogen Economic Evaluation Programme (HEEP). This paper gives a brief overview of the prospects of nuclear energy for hydrogen production including some progress made and challenges, as well as the IAEA activities on nuclear hydrogen production including a brief highlight of the IAEA Hydrogen Economic Evaluation Programme (HEEP).

qezfworevcpatience Meat
If you are looking for a heart and cancer healthy diet, then it is best that you skip the red meat.
The Harvard School of Public Health issued a press release that states “…that red meat consumption is associated with an increased risk of total, cardiovascular, and cancer mortality.”
This conclusion is based on the Harvard researchers observing 37,698 men from the Health Professionals Follow-up Study for 22 years, and 83,644 women from the Nurses’ Health Study for 28 years. At the start of the study, both groups were free of cardiovascular disease and cancer. The participants completed questionnaires every four years to allow the researchers to assess their diets.
Study Results
The results indicated that
- Regular consumption of red, especially processed red meat, was associated with an increased mortality risk.
- One daily serving of unprocessed red meat was associated with a 13% increase in mortality risk.
- One daily serving of processed red meat was associated with a 20% increase in mortality risk.
What is in Red Meat That Makes It Unhealthy?
Some of the ingredients in red meat and processed red meat that are linked to an increased risk of developing cardiovascular diseases and cancer are
- Heme iron
- Saturated fat
- Sodium
- Nitrites
- And carcinogens formed during cooking.
What are healthy alternatives to Red Meat?
Replacing the red meat with a healthier protein source was associated with lowering the mortality risks by
- 7% with fish
- 10% with legumes
- 10% with low fat dairy products
- 14% with poultry
- 14% with whole grains
- And 19% with nuts.
What is Red Meat?
Red meat is dark in color when it is raw. Some examples include
- Beef
- Lamb
- And Pork
What are Processed Red Meats?
Processed red meats have been treated by smoking, salting, curing and having preservatives added to them. Some examples are
- Hot dogs
- Bacon
- Ham
- And Deli Meats
According to the American Institute for Cancer Research, consuming more than 18 ounces of red meat each week increases your risk of developing colorectal cancer. If you still want to keep red meat in your diet, try to reduce your consumption to less than 18 ounces each week of cooked red meat, which is equivalent to 24 ounces of raw red meat.
Mediterranean Style Diet – The Healthy Diet Choice
For improved health and fitness, it is best to use the Mediterranean type of diet, which is considered one of the healthiest diets to follow. The Mediterranean type of diet includes
- Lots of fruits and vegetables
- Nuts

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) ? Tiger Woods is in a place he hasn’t been in 30 months ? atop the leaderboard on the PGA Tour going into the weekend.
With alarming control, Woods putted for birdie on every hole and made short work of the par 5s Friday at Bay Hill for a 7-under 65, giving him a share of the lead with Charlie Wi after two rounds of the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
“A lot of positives today,” Woods said.
Wi, the 54-hole leader at Pebble Beach this year, rolled in a 25-foot birdie putt on his last hole for a 68 to join Woods at 10-under 134.
Former U.S. Open champion Graeme McDowell had an eagle-par-birdie finish for a 63, while Jason Dufner extended his solid play on the Florida swing with a 69. They were one shot behind at 135.
Woods last had the 36-hole lead in any tour event at the Australian Open in November, and he tied for third. On the PGA Tour, go all the way back to the Tour Championship in September 2009 to find the last time he was atop the leaderboard going into the weekend.
It looks even more ominous at Bay Hill, where Woods is a six-time winner.
“I want to win. Yes, absolutely,” he said. “We’ve got a long way to go. It’s not like it’s over right now. We’ve got 36 holes to go.”
Woods at least is in better shape than he was two weeks ago. His future looked as muddled as ever when Woods was taken off the golf course in a cart at Doral because of soreness and swelling in his left Achilles tendon, the same injury that forced him to miss three months and two majors a year ago.
One week later, he was practicing at Augusta National. Now, he’s the player everyone is chasing on the weekend.
“I saw him on television at Doral and didn’t look good there,” said Ernie Els, who played with Woods at Bay Hill, and played with him when Woods shot 62 on the last day of the Honda Classic. “Today he was on, and today was the same as I saw at the Honda ? very on.”
Woods only had a couple of nervous moments.
He ran off four straight birdies on the front nine to quickly get into the mix, and then couldn’t decide how to play his tee shot on the 10th. It didn’t help that earlier in the round, he looked over at adjacent first tee and saw Nick Watney ? affectionately known as “Rube” ? pipe his tee shot out-of-bounds to the right.
“I got over there and for some reason I’m thinking, ‘You know, I probably really shouldn’t hit this driver; I’ll take something off of it, and just hit a little softy out there.’ And bailed on it, because I didn’t want to hit it right out-of-bounds,” Woods said. “And I chalked that up to just not listening to my instincts of hitting a 3-iron down there or just chipping a 5-wood ? or not watching Ruby hit that shot.”
Woods was lucky. The snap hook bounced off a net fence protecting the houses, and he had just enough room to play to the middle of the 10th green and walk away with par.
He also was disgusted with his approach to the par-5 16th, turning in anger and swiping at the ground. It wasn’t a great shot, but it was dry, catching the left side of the green 50 feet away and setting up a two-putt birdie.
Woods also had a two-putt birdie at the par-5 sixth. He made birdies on the other par 5s with his wedge game. Over two rounds, he has had such improved control of his play that he hit 19 consecutive greens in regulation at one point. That streak ended on the 13th hole Friday, when he two-putted for par from on the fringe.
Some of that is familiarity.
“I’ve had a few places where I’ve felt comfortable and I’ve played well, and this is one of them,” Woods said. “For some reason, I just understand how to play it.”
And some of that is becoming more confident with his swing, especially how far he is hitting the ball. Woods said he was not hitting his irons as well before going to work with Sean Foley, and a straighter, tighter ball flight has led to more distance ? and more adjustments.
He felt as though he hit the ball better on Thursday in a round of 69, although he didn’t have nearly as many birdie chances.
“My bad days are not as bad as they used to be,” Woods said.
It was the fifth time Woods had had at least a share of the 36-hole lead at Bay Hill, and he has failed to win only once from that position. Woods served up several reminders that the tournament is only halfway over, along with gentle rebukes that it hasn’t been that long that he’s been in the hunt.
He was tied for the 54-hole lead at Abu Dhabi, finishing third behind Robert Rock. Woods played well at the Australian Open until a poor third round. As for winning, he counts that birdie-birdie finish to win the Chevron World Challenge, which counted toward the world ranking even though it featured an 18-man field from the top 50 in the world.
“So it really has not been as long as people might think it has been,” Woods said. “I’m comfortable up there, and I feel like I’m playing well. We’ve still got a long way to go. We still have 36 holes to go. Still need to continue doing what I’m doing out there, just kind of plodding my way along.”
Wi, who shared the 18-hole lead with Dufner, birdied four of his last six holes to catch up to Woods. From the right rough on the ninth hole, he hammered out a shot to 25 feet below the cup for one last birdie.
Wi and Woods grew up in southern California and have known each other since their junior days, though Wi is four years older.
“Tiger is the man, and it’s going to be fun tomorrow,” Wi said.
The best round came from McDowell, and it was a reminder of how far he has come in one year. McDowell had a dream season in 2010 by winning the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach, winning the decisive point for Europe in the Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor, then ending the year with a record comeback against Woods in the Chevron World Challenge.
McDowell had a hard time managing his time, much less his expectations, and the eye-opener was at Bay Hill last year when he shot 80.
This time, McDowell was 17 shots better.
“That 80 was a wake-up call, but I didn’t wake up for another four months or so,” McDowell said. “It was more of the panic button. It was a pretty awful four or five months for me.
“But like I say, I feel like you learn more from those types of experiences than you do from shooting 63 at Bay Hill. There’s not much to learn out there except that if you play great and hole some putts, you can go low.”
That’s just what he did.
Dufner set the early pace and was the first to reach 10 under until going for the green on the par-5 sixth, misjudging the wind and going into the water to make bogey. Even so, it was another solid round in Florida. Dufner had the lead going into the weekend at Innisbrook, and now he is one shot behind at Bay Hill.
“I think any given day, I can go out and shoot 5 or 6 under, do it pretty comfortably,” Dufner said. “If the putter were to get hot, I feel like I could shoot some lower scores. There has not been a lot of stressful situations that last two or three weeks.”
The stress might pick up Saturday. Woods brings energy to the course when he’s around the lead, especially at Bay Hill, and especially when it’s been so long since he has won on the PGA Tour. He has gone 27 PGA Tour events without a trophy.

SANFORD, Fla. (AP) ? The investigation into last month’s shooting death of an unarmed black teenager in an Orlando suburb is out of the hands of the beleaguered police chief and the county prosecutor with the Justice Department looking at possible civil rights violations and a grand jury perhaps considering charges.
Until admitted shooter George Zimmerman, 28, is led away in handcuffs, the parents of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin and the civil rights activists and others who have rallied for their cause say they won’t be satisfied.
“We cannot allow a precedent when a man can just kill one of us … and then walk out with the murder weapon,” said civil rights leader Al Sharpton, flanked by Martin’s parents and a stage full of supporters at a rally in Sanford on Thursday night. “We don’t want good enough. We want George Zimmerman in court with handcuffs behind his back.”
Police Chief Bill Lee said earlier in the day that he was stepping down temporarily to try to cool the building anger that his department did not arrest neighborhood watch volunteer Zimmerman, who has said he shot Martin on Feb. 26 in self-defense. Hours later, the governor announced that the local state attorney, Norman Wolfinger, had recused himself from the case.
Martin’s parents, Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton, believe Zimmerman should have been arrested. They claim he was profiling their son and acted like a vigilante. Zimmerman’s father is white and his mother is Peruvian.
Tracy Martin told the thousands at the rally to keep his son in their minds.
“If Trayvon were here, he would have been here tonight,” he said. “He was a people person. Let’s get justice for your son.”
The signs, chants and sentiments all came down to a demand for justice in the case. Another rally was set for the state capitol Friday and students at Martin’s Miami high school planned to walk out in protest in the afternoon.
At Thursday’s protest, some people carried signs that said: “100 years of lynching, justifiable homicide. Same thing.” Others sold T-shirts that read: “Arrest Zimmerman.”
“It’s the norm around here, where anything involving black culture, they want to wipe their hands of it,” said Shella Moore, who is black and grew up in Sanford.
The Justice Department and FBI have opened a civil rights investigation, and the local prosecutor before he quit the case convened a grand jury April 10 to determine whether to charge Zimmerman.
Martin was returning from a trip to a convenience store when Zimmerman started following him, telling police dispatchers he looked suspicious. At some point, the two got into a fight and Zimmerman pulled out his gun.
Zimmerman told police Martin attacked him after he had given up on chasing the teenager and was returning to his sport utility vehicle.
The shooting ignited resentment toward the police department in this Orlando suburb for not making an arrest. Civil rights groups have held rallies in Florida and New York, saying the shooting was unjustified. Of Sanford’s 53,000 residents, 57 percent are white and 30 percent are black.
In a letter to Gov. Rick Scott, state attorney Wolfinger said that while he thought he could fairly oversee any prosecution that develops in the case, his recusal was aimed at “toning down the rhetoric and preserving the integrity of the investigation.” Scott appointed Angela B. Corey, the state attorney for the Jacksonville area, to take over.
The chief’s decision came less than a day after city commissioners gave him a “no confidence” vote and after a couple of weeks of protests and uproar on social media websites. Lee has said evidence supported Zimmerman’s assertion that the shooting was in self-defense.
“I do this in the hopes of restoring some semblance of calm to a city which has been in turmoil for several weeks,” Lee said.
The chief said he stood behind his agency’s investigation.
“As a former homicide investigator, a career law enforcement officer and a father, I am keenly aware of the emotions associated with this tragic death of a child. I’m also aware that my role as a leader of this agency has become a distraction from the investigation,” Lee said.
Martin’s parents said the police chief’s action wasn’t enough, and that Zimmerman should be taken into custody.
“We want an arrest, we want a conviction and we want him sentenced for the murder of my son,” Martin’s father, Tracy, said to the fiery crowd of protesters at Fort Mellon Park.
It wasn’t immediately clear how long the police chief would step aside. Some people said he should just quit.
“If they wanted to defuse a potential powder keg, he needed to resign,” said pastor Eugene Walton, 58, who was born and raised in Sanford. “His inaction speaks loudly to the black community.”
News of the police chief’s decision to step aside spread quickly among the protesters, many of whom showed up more than two hours before the start of the rally. They chanted “The chief is gone. Zimmerman is next.”
Dick Gregory, a comedian who uses humor to convey his civil rights message, said the steady pressure should be the goal going forward.
“All you have to do is be a turtle,” he said. “Hard on the outside, soft on the inside and willing to stick your neck out.”

After three years of postponements and frustration, Japan Airlines Co (JAL) is finally set to take delivery of the first of its new fleet of Boeing aeroplanes.
Two 787 planes will arrive in Japan on Monday (March 25th), with commercial flights set to begin four weeks later as the airline takes passengers to Boston, Bloomberg reported.
Confirming the delivery, JAL president Yoshiharu Ueki said: “We’re grateful and delighted that delivery of our first 787 has been confirmed,” the news provider quoted.
“Bookings for the Boston route next month are almost full.”
Delivery of the two 787s will launch the arrival of a total 45 aircrafts that JAL currently has on order, with Boeing Dreamliners also lined up to join its fleet.
The 787s will boast a total of 42 business-class seats and a further 144 in economy class, while inflight entertainment includes over 30 Japanese comics available electronically.
Last week, Japanese travellers waved goodbye to the iconic 300-series bullet train as it was decommissioned to make way for newer models.

qezfworevcpatience little molecules, negative calorie foods, water
Negative calorie foods: Are there really any negative calorie foods? To tell the truth, NO there isn?t! Calorie?s are little molecules of heat and as such they cannot be negative. When we refer to negative calorie foods what we actually mean is items of food we can intake and digest that are able to use more calories than they contain.
Let?s talk water. Essentially lets chat about Ice Cold Water!
Water has no calories at all and is undoubtedly a negative calorie food (That is if you call water a type of food?) due to the fact once we drink the ice cold water our body is working to heat up the cold water up to blood temperature, because of this our body is expanding energy and burning up calories.
You know there are a ton of food stuffs available for purchase but not many of those are what we probably would call negative calorie foods. Just about all of the food products on the list at the bottom of this page are what we would call negative calorie foods, whilst this actually is incorrect for the reason that they do not in all honesty burn up a whole lot more unhealthy calories than they poses. Of course, when you take into consideration the tiny extent of calories remaining after consuming something like a stick of celery for example, are easily burnt away by engaging in something as undemanding as scratching your forehead then you start to have an understanding of precisely why they hold value in a diet program. I hope you now fully grasp what we imply when we talk about negative calorie foods?
Anorexics just prefer negative calorie foods, understanding that ought to set your alarm belles ringing. Though negative calorie foods are incredibly good in small amounts they simply cannot satisfy all your nutritional necessities in a good and healthy and balanced way. If you depend upon on just consuming these kinds of foods the obvious outcome will likely be starvation. This is because once all the additional calories and unwanted fat are removed it would have to turn it?s attentions to the muscle mass of your physique. This behavior would very rapidly turn into debility and wasting of your body as seen in the anorexia illness.
Fasting or detoxing the body is a better method to utilise these food stuffs. By utilising them in this manner it is a good deal more healthy for yourself. By way of example. For those who have ingested a tad bit more than you expected to over the Christmas holidays you can actually choose to detox your body for one to three days by only eating these kinds of negative calorie food products.
So long as you are fairly healthy and fit enough to carry this out it is a terrific strategy to throw out the not so good factors from your system. However I passionately advise you that you get medical assistance preceding to endeavoring on this scheme.
Here are a several suggestions to take into consideration if you ever make the decision to execute a negative calorie detox. Under no circumstances eat considerable sums of any one form of food. Fruit?s by way of example include acids that can probably ruin the abdominal lining if eaten to excess. Some others include the likelihood to over facilitate the liver. You should always put together the foods the best way you possibly can and use them in small proportions for the most desirable final results.
Eliminate eating quite frequently. This approach will just make you feel sick and bloated. Bear in mind that this is only a short-term detox and you ought to be capable to get through it with no need of seriously feeling as if you?re that hungry.
If you intend to have 5 or 6 salad meals a day this should help you feel substantially less hungry that will help you through the mental element of things. Try to eat the foods in their inherent state (raw), foods for instance , beets and carrots will want to be grated, this will help make them a great deal more desirable and satisfying.
Furthermore try to remember that by detoxing you could possibly suffer some uncomfortable symptoms. Things something like irritability, headaches, depression and tiredness. If symptoms are extreme, stop the detox and see your doctor. The moment your detox has completed make a slow return to proper eating.
As promised above, here is the list of negative calorie products.

* Asparagus
* Beets
* Blueberries
* Broccoli
* Cantaloupes
